Carbondale on Friday and Saturday hosted its second Carbondalien Festival, a celebration of a story that started on Nov. 9, 1974, when a bunch of youngsters instructed police they noticed a pink, sparking ball cross over Salem Mountain and plunge right into a mining pond in Russell Park. The weekend occasions included a parade, live performance and many different UFO-friendly actions.
