Atlanta, Ga. – The East Carolina swimming and diving group completed with a third-place end on the Georgia Tech Invitational over the weekend.

The three-day invitational was held on the McAuley Aquatic Center.

East Carolina competed in opposition to host Georgia Tech in addition to Missouri, Auburn, Duke and Virginia Tech. Frida Zuniga led the Pirates’ divers with a third-place end within the 1-meter (277.85) in addition to a third-place end within the platform dive (260.45).

“Another strong outing for our divers going up against some of the best divers in the country and very pleased with how they competed all meet.,” head coach Matthew Jabs stated. “Frida continues to show she is one of the best in the American Conference and the entire southeast. For our freshman, it was a great learning experience, and I’m very proud of our returners doing an excellent job of mentoring them. The ECU divers are a special group and Ryan (McIntire) is doing an excellent job coaching them.  This meet will help prepare them for our conference championship in February.”

Freshman Romina Hernandez additionally had a robust weekend, inserting tenth within the 3-meter (259.95) and thirteenth within the platform (190.05).
