Photography Club of Davis to host its subsequent assembly on Dec. 18 – Each day Democrat

The Photography Club of Davis invitations the general public to a free program, “The Canyon Country of the Southwest,” on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7:10 p.m. within the Blanchard Room of the Davis Library, situated at 314 E 14th St.

The program will function John Spurr, a Davis native and longtime membership member, who will share a set of pictures taken over practically 30 years of journey by way of the American Southwest. Spurr’s work focuses on distant landscapes past paved roads, together with distinctive rock formations, historic Native American ruins and rock artwork, and occasional dinosaur tracks.

A retired medical analysis affiliate and monetary officer from UC Davis, Spurr has led a multifaceted life that features years as an electrical guitarist in native rock bands. His curiosity within the canyon nation started 35 years in the past. For the previous 29 years, he and his spouse have spent two weeks yearly mountaineering and exploring the hidden corners between the area’s state and nationwide parks and monuments.
