Males’s Swim & Dive Takes First Place at Luther Invite

DECORAH, Iowa – The Gustavus Adolphus College males’s swimming & diving staff is competing within the Luther Invitational this weekend. The Gusties completed first out of the sphere of eight groups with a rating of 980 factors. UW-Whitewater adopted in second with 572 factors and Augustana rounded out the highest three groups with 541.5 factors.
 
Declan Vahey gained the 200 backstroke (1:52.43), 200 IM (1:55.55), and 100 backstroke (50.94)
 
Aiden Carlson positioned first within the 200 breaststroke (2:08.79) and 100 butterfly (51.37).
 
Braden Ripken gained the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.73.
 
Ben Kell was the runner-up within the 200 butterfly, putting second in 1:58.52.
 
Charles Newton positioned second within the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.21.
 
Aidynn Havermann was the runner-up within the 400 IM at 4:14.84.
 
Logan Cyr took third within the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:50.69
 
The Gusties positioned first within the 400 medley relay (3:26.03) and the 200 medley relay (1:31.56). Gustavus additionally took second within the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.47) and third within the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.18).
