Matthew Cavazos Strikes into Assistant Director of Athletics Communications Function

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics introduced on Monday that Matthew Cavazos is now an assistant director of athletic communications, serving as the first media contact for the lads’s soccer, girls’s swimming & diving, and males’s and girls’s tennis packages.
 
Cavazos, who began at UTRGV as an informational author for the UTRGV Newsroom in July 2023 earlier than being promoted to multimedia journalist forward of the 2024-25 educational 12 months, will even help with tasks that embody alumni outreach such because the Hall of Fame and Varsity Club.

A graduate of Texas Tech, Cavazos beforehand labored as a pupil worker for Texas Tech Broadcast Services and as a manufacturing intern with the Southern Illinois Miners in the summertime of 2021. He additionally interned with UTRGV University Marketing and Communications in the summertime of 2022.
