CURATOR TOUR – MADE IN AMERICA: THE INDUSTRIAL PHOTOGRAPHY OF CHRISTOPHER PAYNE

In this curator-guided tour of Made in America: – The Industrial Photography of Christopher Payene, guests will discover a few of the 70 authentic images of commercial manufacturing throughout the United States, as seen via the lens of photographer Christopher Payne. From sweet to pianos to humanoid robots, Payne’s images seize the ingenuity and variety of merchandise made in America, and the expert employees who make them.  This tour might be led by Susan Brown, Acting Head of Textiles and Associate Curator. 

• Format: This is a casual, guided tour led by a Cooper Hewitt curator. Tours contain strolling across the Museum and standing in galleries for prolonged intervals of time. Standard guide wheelchairs, rollators, and transportable stools can be found for many who request them.
