Swimmers Battling FIU in Sprint Format

DENTON – The UNT swimmers are set to tackle a well-known foe within the first of two meets in Florida over the subsequent week, because the Mean Green will face off with a pair of American Conference foes starting with FIU on Saturday in Miami earlier than going through Florida Atlantic subsequent week in Boca Raton. 

The Mean Green will compete in Saturday’s FIU Sprint Invite, which is able to function 50-yard races in every stroke in a bracket/shootout fashion format, together with the 100 and 200 freestyle, 100 IM, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.

“We’re looking forward to our competitions in Florida to kick off the 2026 portion of the season,” UNT head coach Brittany Roth stated. “At FIU, our team will get a chance to test their top-end speed in a shootout format – a really fun way to race the 50s of each stroke. For our team, we race ‘hand on the wall’ mentality every week, and this meet will be a great opportunity to put it in motion.”
