Three Wrestlers Victorious, Tar Heels End Runner-Up At Soldier Salute

CORALVILLE, Iowa – Three North Carolina wrestlers completed atop the rostrum on day two of Soldier Salute, serving to the Tar Heels to a runner-up workforce end.
 
Carolina completed the two-day match with 161.5 workforce factors, trailing Missouri who capped off the occasion with 166.5 factors.
 
Individually, Ethan Oakley (133), Luke Simcox (141) and Bryce Hepner (165) secured championships of their respective weight courses. The Tar Heel trio helped Carolina put up 11 complete placers within the match.
 
Kysen Terukina (125) and Jake Dailey (184) completed runner-up, assembly ranked wrestlers of their championship bouts.
 
Rounding out the person efforts, Matthew Botello (Third – 133), Laird Root (Fourth – 157), Robert Platt (Fourth – 197), Nick O’Neill (Fifth – 141), Nicholas Fea (Fifth – 174) and Mikey Calcagno (Sixth – 197) positioned for the Tar Heels.
 
Up subsequent, Carolina shifts its focus to the Atlantic Coast Conference portion of the schedule, touring to Virginia on Jan. 16. Action between the Tar Heels and Cavaliers will get underway at 7 PM, with the twin streamed on ACCNX.
