Swim & Dive Squads Journey to High-15 Findlay on Saturday

DETROIT — The Wayne State University swimming & diving squads will proceed their busy schedule with a visit to the University of Findlay on Saturday, January 17.  Action from inside Sink Natatorium for WSU’s fourth general twin meet of the 2025-26 season will start at 1 p.m.

The Warriors will face nationally ranked competitors in each genders as soon as once more this weekend.  The Oilers are ranked eighth (males) and thirteenth (ladies) within the nation for Division II in line with the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America’s (CSCAA) high 25.

The Green and Gold are in the midst of a five-meet stretch of contests between January 9 and January 24.  The two groups squared off with Calvin and Grand Valley State final weekend to start the 2026 portion of the schedule.

“Going to Findlay is always a good challenge, said head coach Sean Peters.  Their program is a perennial top 10 program on the men’s side, and their women have incredible talent.  They are, no doubt, one of the fastest programs in Division II, and, at their facility, they are even more formidable.  I love it! Can’t wait to get there, see our Warriors race with them, and try to continue to build to our ultimate goal of being the best we can be at both GLIAC’s and Nationals.”

National Spotlight

The most up-to-date version of the CSCAA high 25 was launched in December, with each Warrior squads receiving votes. The WSU males are 14th within the nation with 100 complete factors, whereas the Green and Gold ladies collected eight complete votes to seem simply exterior of the highest 25 in twenty seventh place. Wasiniak Collects Weekly Honor

Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio) was named GLIAC Diver of the Week by the convention on Wednesday for his performances final weekend at Calvin and vs. Grand Valley State.  On the highway at CU, Wasiniak tied-for first in one-meter diving (313.58) and gained on the three-meter board (298.50).  He continued his run the next day with victories on each boards (314.33 on the one meter and 325.05 on the three meter) towards GLIAC powerhouse GVSU.

It was the sixth time in his profession and third occasion already this season that Wasiniak earned the weekly honor.

About Findlay

Findlay is led by Diego Santos in his third season as head coach of the Oilers’ swimming & diving applications.  He beforehand spent 4 years because the assistant coach of each groups previous to his promotion to the lead position.  Santos has guided UF to 4 dual-meet victories on each the lads’s and girls’s sides, together with victories for each over Ashland, Lewis, Hillsdale, and John Carroll University.  However, the Oilers misplaced in each genders final weekend at Indianapolis of their first motion of 2026.

Next Up
