Rev. Leonard “Caney” Doyle Carpenter, age 80 of Bean Station, handed away Monday, January 19, 2026. He was a member of Freedom’s Chapel Church in Bean Station and had been the pastor of a number of church buildings within the space. He retired from the Morristown City Fire Department. Leonard liked the Lord and his household and will likely be dearly missed. He was preceded in demise by his spouse, Linda Faye Carpenter; dad and mom, Andrew Amos and Bessie Carpenter; and several other brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons, Scott (Sherry) Carpenter and Donnie Carpenter; 5 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and plenty of particular buddies and church household. The household will obtain buddies from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January twenty first at Freedom’s Chapel in Bean Station. Funeral providers will observe at 7 p.m. on the church with Rev. Lonnie Dalton and Rev. Leonard Dalton officiating. Family and buddies will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, January twenty second at Freedom’s Chapel Cemetery for graveside providers with Rev. Rick Dalton officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
