ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Some Lobos are headed west, and some south as New Mexico readies for its final meet of the regular season. The diving squad heads to Flagstaff, Arizona, for the Lumberjack Diving Invitational, while the swimming team will take on New Mexico State for a swim-only meet.
The Lumberjack Diving Invitational will take place Thursday through Saturday, January 29-31, at the Wall Aquatic Center. On Thursday, the 1-meter diving prelims will be held, followed by the finals later in the day. The 3-meter event, starting with prelims and concluding with the finals, will be on Friday before the Inviational ends on Saturday with the platform, which will feature preliminary rounds followed by finals to close the meet.
The swim team will take on New Mexico State on Saturday in Las Cruces, starting at 11:30 am, but the meet will be at the Las Cruces City Pool (1405 E. Hadley Ave.), and not NMSU’s on-campus facility. There will not be a stream.
The Lobos are coming off three event wins against NAU in their lone home meet, with the big result Liv Hann turning in a PR with a win in the 100 free, shaving 0.88 seconds off her previous best and moving into the No. 1 slot in the event on the team.
The Mountain West Championships will be held in Houston, Texas, February 18-21, and tickets are on sale here.
