Eagle Baseball to Journey to Lexington to Take On No. 18 Kentucky Tuesday

Morehead, Ky. — Morehead State travels to the Bluegrass to tackle the 18^th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats Tuesday in Kentucky Proud Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The recreation could be seen on the SEC+ Network.
 
Morehead State’s season-opening sequence final weekend was moved to George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, Ky., on account of Allen Field remaining unplayable after the winter storm that swept by the area.
 
After dropping the season-opener 7-4 to UMass Lowell Friday, Morehead State swept its doubleheader with the River Hawks Saturday. Lexington native Carter Owens is scheduled to get the beginning for Morehead State. Morehead native Chase Alderman is scheduled to begin for Kentucky.
 
NOTABLE

• Sophomore catcher Caden Sheridan began 52 of the Eagles’ 53 video games final season. Sheridan performed 5 defensive positions: catcher, first base, second base, proper discipline and heart discipline. He additionally was slotted in because the designated hitter in seven contests in 2025.
• Sheridan was an OVC All-Freshman Team choice in 2025. He slashed .265/.410/.361. He led the Morehead State and ranked 10^th within the OVC with 14 doubles. Behind the plate Sheridan threw out 12 base stealers, the fifth-most within the OVC.

• Returning senior JJ Dutton led Morehead State with a .340 batting common in 2025, rating eighth within the OVC. He raised his batting common 140 factors from March 1 to the tip of the season. He led the Eagles with 4 triples final season, tied for the second-highest complete within the OVC.
• Dutton prolonged his reached-base streak to 32 video games Saturday when he went one for 2 within the second recreation of the doubleheader.
• Sophomore Aubrey Kearns had a strong begin to the 2026 season final weekend. After getting successful within the opener Friday, he obtained begins in each video games Saturday.  The Nicholasville, Kentucky native completed the weekend with 5 hits in 11 at bats (.455) with a house run and three runs batted in.
• Freshman heart fielder Kyle Krupp was strong within the Eagles’ opening weekend, rapping out 5 hits in 12 at bats with a double and a triple and drove in three runs from the leadoff place in all three video games.
• Morehead State hit .280 as a staff final season, rating fourth within the OVC.
• MSU’s 884 complete bases had been the second-most within the OVC in 2025. MSU’s senior catcher Hunter Thomas led the OVC with 143.
• Morehead State slugged 76 dwelling runs, second within the convention, simply behind SIUE with 77. Thomas tied for the convention lead with 19 round-trippers.
