Journey situations deteriorate alongside I-95 as Blizzard Calvin continues

MILFORD, CT (WFSB) – Snow continued to fall alongside Interstate 95 in southern Connecticut Monday morning.

Road situations deteriorated Sunday night time when Blizzard Calvin first ramped up.

Travelers made a final push to succeed in their locations forward of the storm, whereas truck drivers parked at relaxation stops as a consequence of a statewide industrial car ban that went into impact at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

At a relaxation cease on I-95 morth in Milford on Sunday, drivers made transient stops to seize fuel, meals, and water earlier than persevering with their drives.

Among these stopping was David Badejo of Attleboro, Mass., who had been touring from Georgia.

“Going home to a blizzard. Yeah, I wish I had another week in Georgia,” Badejo mentioned. “It was beautiful. It was, like, 70 degrees down there every day.”

Maria Thompson of Boston, who flew into New York from Miami earlier Sunday, mentioned she took precautions for the remaining two-and-a-half-hour drive north.

“It’s going to be pretty bad, so I’m really trying to take some precautions,” Thompson mentioned. “I just bought myself some water and sandwiches.”

Commercial truck drivers on the relaxation cease had been unable to proceed their routes after the statewide ban on industrial car journey on restricted entry highways took impact. Rows of parked vans had been seen alongside the remainder cease because the ban went into drive.
