Consociate Media Presents “Working Waterfronts” Images Exhibition at York & Main

GLOUCESTER – A have a look at the individuals and locations formed by Virginia’s working waters arrives in Gloucester this March.

Consociate Media will current Working Waterfronts, a images exhibition by the agency’s award-winning photojournalist Rob Ostermaier, at York & Main, an artwork gallery and classic store alongside Gloucester’s Main Street.

The exhibition opens with a public reception Sunday, March 8 from 1 to three p.m. and runs by way of March 29.

A portion of proceeds from exhibition gross sales will profit Hold Fast, a Gloucester-based nonprofit group that brings veterans onto the water to crab and oyster as a therapeutic strategy to treating post-traumatic stress dysfunction.

In Working Waterfronts, Ostermaier captures the numerous methods individuals reside with and rely upon the water. The images are a part of a broader storytelling initiative led by Consociate Media to doc and elevate the voices of people that reside, work and persevere alongside Virginia’s rural shoreline.

Through intentional visible journalism and community-based storytelling, the Consociate Media staff seeks to protect the authenticity of working waterfronts whereas highlighting the resilience, heritage and evolving realities of coastal life.
