Cedarhurst to function SIU Carbondale college students’ images

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The photographic skills of 12 Southern Illinois University Carbondale college students and up to date graduates might be on show starting Saturday, March 21, on the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mount Vernon.

“University Spotlight: New Works from the Next Generation,” will function 12 images from college students within the SIU School of Art and Design and the Charlotte Thompson Suhler School of Advertising and Journalism. The exhibition in Mitchell Museum’s Beal Corridor Gallery can even function works by college students from SIU Edwardsville and Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg.

Each pupil from the three colleges submitted one murals; there are 31 artwork works within the exhibition, which runs by way of June 14.

Admission is free aside from the March 21 opening reception, which is from 5 to 7 p.m. within the Beal Corridor Gallery as a part of Cedarhurst’s “Gather at the Galleries.” Admission for the opening reception is $10 for normal admission; Cedarhurst members are free.

Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is at 2600 Richview Road in Mount Vernon. The facility is open from 10 a.m. to five p.m., Tuesday by way of Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.  The facility is closed on Mondays and nationwide holidays.
