ATLANTA, GA. – The No. 7 NC State males’s swimming and diving staff opened competitors on the 2026 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships with back-to-back podium finishes in each relays on day one at McAuley Aquatic Center, held March 25–28.

The Wolfpack’s 200 medley relay squad of Quintin McCarty, Daniel Diehl, Aiden Hayes, and Drew Salls kicked off the meet in session one. Competing within the morning prelims, NC State secured a spot within the high eight earlier than ending fifth total with a time of 1:23.23.

Freshman Max Carlsen made his NCAA Championships debut within the 1650 freestyle. After routinely qualifying on the ACC Championships, Carlsen competed within the night finals and positioned twelfth total with a time of 14:44.57, incomes second-team All-America honors.
