Family photographer exposes actuality of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal kids’s ‘not regular’ upbringing

Royal photographer Chris Jackson believes Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three kids are actually sufficiently old to acknowledge that their upbringing is something however peculiar.

The Getty Images lensman spoke with Page Six at a celebration selling his new e-book, “Modern Majesty: The British Royal Family in a New Era,” at N. Peal on the Upper East Side Wednesday.

“You don’t see them very often, but when you do see them, it’s lovely to watch them kind of growing up,” Jackson stated of Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 7.

Through his personal observations, Jackson believes the three little royals are beginning to study that they aren’t simply common children.

“I’m guessing they realize it’s not normal to be in these situations,” he stated, referring to their royal appearances like Trooping The Colour.

“It’s lovely to see them interacting together,” he added.

While Charlotte is the spitting picture of her dad, Jackson described her as a mini model of Kate.

“She’s got great poise,” he stated of the little princess.

Jackson was significantly touched by a candid snapshot of Charlotte that he captured throughout her carriage trip on the 2024 Trooping the Colour.

“She had quite a kind of a sense of focus in this picture,” Jackson stated of the photograph, which is included in his new e-book, including, “I love that moment.”

Jackson recalled one other “particularly funny” second caught on his digital camera on the 2025 VE Day parade when George’s siblings had been “joking about his hair.”

“I get all these kind of little moments,” Jackson stated, sharing that it’s beautiful that he will get a entrance seat view of George’s “father-son relationship” with the Prince of Wales.

“Photographing them over the years has been really special,” he stated.

Jackson divulged that capturing the portrait for Charles’ seventieth birthday was his “most unusual royal shoot.”

“I had one of the people from the palace dress up as a bear,” he recalled. “Everyone was chuckling and laughing.”

“It made a lovely kind of candid moment with the children, which was kind of a contrast to the more formal picture that you need for history,” he added.

Elsewhere within the interview, Jackson shared some insights into Charles’ playful persona.

“He has an incredible ability to connect with people from different cultures around the world,” Jackson stated. “He’s always got a joke or, you know, something that’s going to make the person he’s talking to feel relaxed.”

As for his expertise working with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Jackson stated he had “a great experience photographing them both.”

“There’s all these different characters in the royal family,” he defined. “So I’ve always enjoyed photographing them.”
