I landed in Kilimanjaro (JRO) and was kindly greeted by my clothes shop. Easy experience to my resort the place I slept for 8 hours. Overall, to this point so good and all of the drama I fearful about with airline journey didn’t have an effect on me or my flight in anyway. My flight report is on the finish of this publish for anybody that desires to learn it.

This yr I’ve two teams for Tanzania. One a personal group and one an everyday workshop. Donna Bourdon assisted me with each after Paul McKenzie had some points together with his eyes. Donna was an important assistant!

Our first cease on the tour was Ndutu. At this vacation spot, our targets have been lions in timber and flamingos on the lake. The birding in and round Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu is off the charts. The group had loads of species to select from.

On our second night in Ndutu we have been handled to 3 lionesses and one cub climbing down an acacia tree proper in entrance of us…….within the rain in addition!

But my favourite photograph session in Ndutu was on our final morning. We had early morning mist on the lake with loads of flamingos. And if that wasn’t nice sufficient, we had a number of hyenas within the water preventing over a wildebeest head and rib cage!

From Ndutu, we drove to the central a part of the Serengeti. Our sightings included a lion up a tree and a leopard up a tree. Both have been snapshot moments, however nothing panned out. Overall, the camp was implausible at that location, however we had restricted sightings, so it was good that we have been solely there for 2 nights.

After our brief keep in central Serengeti, we went to the jap a part of the Serengeti. Right off the bat we situated a report 14 cheetah. Nine of them have been in a single morning. We additionally photographed Side-striped jackals which might be a bit bigger than the Black-backed jackals that we normally see within the Mara. They are additionally nocturnal, so we have been lucky to have seen them.

Other sightings included a big male leopard, big herds of wildebeest, zebra, and Grant gazelle. On one morning, we adopted as a big lion chased one other big male till each have been so exhausted they couldn’t even face-off. Apparently, that they had fought the night time earlier than as there have been claw marks and contemporary blood on the one lion.

We watched as a cheetah chased a gazelle however missed because the gazelle made a hairpin flip on the final second and saved her life. We additionally watched as a cheetah virtually walked straight into the clutches of a lion. We puzzled why the lion hadn’t made any makes an attempt to stalk it. But after the cheetah ran away, we noticed that the lion had a small wildebeest that it was dragging— he checked out us as if we needed his meal… no thanks!!

Overall, we had some superb sightings, a few of which have been very thrilling. We have been additionally blessed with implausible climate. Cool breezes and just one tiny solar bathe that resulted in lower than 10 minutes!

Most of the time we had each sighting to ourselves. We travelled with two superb guides that would actually spot something that moved. I’ll be main a second group in a few days. Fingers crossed we proceed to be blessed.

Below are a few of my favourite photographs so removed from the primary group.
