Two new artwork galleries have opened within the Dallas-Fort Worth space. The Masure Gallery of Photography within the Ridglea Hills neighborhood of Forth Worth introduced its opening in February; and Spazio Morandi introduced its opening in East Dallas on Wednesday, April 1.
The Masure Gallery of Photography is an outgrowth of the Fort Worth Camera provide retailer, owned by Jeff and CJ Masure. The gallery’s web site states that the mission of each the shop and the brand new gallery are “to uplift and empower local photographers.”

The first exhibition, titled RED, contains a lineup of 10 North Texas artists, with all photos centering on the colour pink in nature, costumery, and the city panorama. In her curatorial statement, Simone Fischer, Gallery Director and Chief Curator, identifies a “photographic architectural abstraction movement of North Texas,” citing the work of Felix Schilling and Amy Lesher as prime examples.
An artist talk with 5 artists within the RED exhibition: Natalie Bowers, Joe Felan, Agustin Gonzalez, Chris Ireland, and Jonathan Kilcullen, and moderated by Ms. Fischer, will happen on Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. The gallery exhibition runs by Saturday, May 30.

Spazio Morandi, in asserting its opening, launched a manifesto by homeowners Stefania Morandi and Wanda W. Dye detailing the gallery’s goal in 10 factors. The factors embody “to create a space for all kinds of art by and for all kinds of people” and “to create a space that doesn’t take itself too seriously, to add levity to a very heavy world.” Other factors within the manifesto emphasize accessibility, group, and experimentation.
The first Spazio Morandi exhibition is a solo present by Austin artist Brad Tucker titled Hospitality Suite, that includes work, painted wooden sculptures, and “upcycled” T-shirts imprinted with acquainted company branding.
