Juvenile drowns in swimming pool in Natchez, police say

NATCHEZ, Miss. (WLBT) – A juvenile drowned in Natchez Wednesday morning, in keeping with the Natchez Police Department.

At roughly 10 a.m., NPD officers responded to reviews of an unresponsive juvenile at a house on Creek Street.

Upon arrival on the scene, officers discovered a utility employee performing CPR on the juvenile.

After securing the scene, officers took over and commenced performing CPR alongside AMR on the best way to the hospital.

The juvenile was later pronounced deceased on the hospital.

Currently, the juvenile’s identification has not been launched.

Officials stated it appeared the juvenile’s step-father was mowing the grass when the juvenile wandered throughout the road and slipped into an outdated swimming pool behind a neighboring residence.

When the step-father observed the juvenile was not within the yard, he went door-to-door within the space trying to find them.

The juvenile was discovered unresponsive within the pool after a number of minutes of looking out, officers stated, and utility staff close by rushed over and assisted till the police and EMS arrived on the scene.
