GLIAC — The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has unveiled its weekly honors after the 11th week of the 2024-25 swimming & diving season. Honorees include Grand Valley State junior Raul Briceno (men’s swimming), Grand Valley State junior Lucy Hedley (women’s swimming), St. Cloud State sophomore Jimmy Nord (men’s diving), and Northern Michigan sophomore Kalina Ceglinski (women’s diving). 

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Raul Briceno, Grand Valley State
Raul Briceno participated in three events last weekend against Davenport University during a head-to-head competition. He secured first place in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle events, clocking in at 4:32.59 and 9:18.13. Briceno also contributed to the 400-yard freestyle relay team, which completed the race in 3:07.32. This marks Raul’s second recognition as GLIAC Swimmer of the Week.


WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Lucy Hedley, Grand Valley State
Lucy Hedley earned the title of GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the fifth time this season, and this is her second consecutive week of recognition. Hedley took part in four events last weekend and dominated the field with her performances. She clinched first place in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 50.14 and 1:49.70, respectively. Furthermore, Hedley was part of the 400-yard medley relay (3:43.95) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:28.35).


MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Jimmy Nord, St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State’s sophomore diver finished first in both the 1M Dive (310.28) and 3M Dive (278.25) during a dual competition against D1 South Dakota State on Friday (Jan. 17). Additionally, he achieved second place in the 3M Dive (275.90) and fourth place in the 1M Dive (278.20) during a dual meet against St. John’s on Saturday (Jan. 18).


WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Kalina Ceglinski, Northern Michigan
Kalina Ceglinski showcased a powerful performance in the pool for the ‘Cats in their first home meet of 2025, triumphing in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 278.78 and 273.30, respectively. Ceglinski won by a margin of 9.9 points in the 1-meter event and 34.87 points in the 3-meter dive. Alongside her victories, Ceglinski achieved her six-dive NCAA qualifying score.
