AUSTIN, Texas — The No.6/6 Texas women’s basketball squad constrained RV South Dakota State to 15 points beneath their regular scoring average and outscored the Jackrabbits by 39 points compared to what they typically permit opponents this season, finishing with a score of 103-57 at Moody Center on Sunday. 

Texas ended the Jackrabbits’ seven-game winning streak and heads into the holiday intermission with a record of 12-1, approaching one more non-conference game ahead of the commencement of SEC action. 

Freshman Justice Carlton tallied 19 points with 8-of-12 shooting and nine rebounds, marking the second highest scoring total of her career. Senior Taylor Jones achieved her fourth double-double of the season and the 22nd of her career with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Jordan Lee, a freshman guard, initiated the game, contributing 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting alongside four rebounds, while guard Rori Harmon amassed 13 points, seven assists, and six steals. 

Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda, hailing from South Dakota, netted 10 points in just 11 minutes of play. 

The Texas newcomers (Justice Carlton, Jordan Lee, and Bryanna Preston) collectively contributed 41 points, shooting 17-of-27 (63 percent) from the field.
