Splashes and Showdowns: Wyoming’s Weekend Swim Highlights!

Ava Menditto clinched all four events on Wednesday as Wyoming Area triumphed over Holy Redeemer 132-49 in the Wyoming Valley Conference girls swimming competition.

With this victory, Wyoming Area has joined Dallas at 2-0 to claim the top position in the 12-team league, while the other ten teams each possess at least one loss or a tie.

Menditto demonstrated her stamina by securing victories in the 200-yard individual medley and 500 freestyle, in addition to contributing to wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Emma Kratz and Sofia Menta each achieved success in an individual freestyle event and played a role in two relay triumphs.

Kratz emerged victorious in the 100 and was part of the 200 relay wins, both in medley and freestyle formats.

Menta took first in the 200 and participated in the two freestyle relay victories.

Ella McKernan secured the win in the 100 breaststroke and helped lead the 200 medley relay to success.

Ainsley Flynn and Lucia Campenni also participated in both freestyle relay wins.

Franny Graham achieved victory in diving.

Holy Redeemer 80, Wyoming Area boys 40

The loss for Wyoming Area against Holy Redeemer on Wednesday left the Warriors with a record of 0-2.

Zhiwen Tang, who claimed victory in the 200 freestyle, along with Jon Cortez, who succeeded in the 100, both contributed to the winning 200 freestyle relay team. They were accompanied by Savino Sabatini and Trevor Winslow on the victorious relay.
