Milum Earns Prestigious All-American Honors from Sporting News!

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior offensive lineman Wyatt Milum has been selected for The Sporting News’ All-America First Team as revealed by the organization.
 
Milum, a senior hailing from Kenova, West Virginia, received recognition as the Big 12 Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, was appointed to the all-conference first-team roster, and becomes the 18^th Mountaineer to be included in the all-time FWAA All-America compilation. He is also WVU’s 50^th All-America honoree since 2002. The program boasts a total of 113 All-Americans to date.
 
Milum continues the streak of Sporting News All-America recognitions for the Mountaineers, following Zach Frazier and Beanie Bishop Jr. who were honored in 2023, marking him as the fifth selection since 2020. Darius Stills received first team nods in 2020 while Tykee Smith was acknowledged with second-team accolades.
 
Milum is recorded as the seventh WVU offensive lineman to achieve Sporting News All-American first- or second-team (three on the first team, four on the second team) distinctions (First Team – Milum- 2024 – OT; Dan Mozes – 2006 – C; Mike Compton – 1992 – OL; Second Team – Zach Frazier, 2023 – OL; Ryan Stanchek – 2007 – OT; Garin Justice – 2005 – OT; Brian Smider – 1988 – OT).
 
This latest accolade for Milum represents the fifth (Walter Camp – first team, AFCA – first team, AP – second team, FWAA – first team) acknowledgment from the five All-America teams that comprise the consensus squad.
 
He has participated in 47 contests, begun 43 of them, and has executed 2,951 snaps throughout his four-year career. This season, he has contributed to WVU’s ranking of No. 9 among Power 4 institutions in rushing yards per contest (192.7). WVU stands as one of two FBS programs with three athletes exceeding 600 rushing yards each. In 2023, he aided the Mountaineer rushing offense in achieving the No. 1 position among Power 4 schools, boasting an average of 228.9 yards per game.
 
Milum has also prevented a sack in 34 out of the last 36 games he participated in, including a streak of not allowing any over the last two seasons. He was recognized as a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy, awarded to the top interior lineman in the nation.
 
In 2024, Milum has not permitted a quarterback hurry and has only faced seven pressures. PFF College ranks Milum as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation, achieving a score of 90.1. His run-blocking grade of 84.2 places him at No. 6, while his pass-blocking score (89.8) ranks No. 4. The offense has consistently achieved at least 140 rushing yards in 26 of its last 28 games since 2022.
 
West Virginia stands tied for No. 10 nationally with 83 rushes resulting in 10 or more yards gained, tied for No. 8 with 128 missed tackles caused on runs, No. 14 with 1,647 rushing yards after contact, and No. 19 with 141 rushes resulting in a first down.
