Tampa, Fla. – Dec. 23, 2024 – South Florida women’s basketball graduate guard Sammie Puisis has received USBWA National Weekly Honors and AP Player of the Week Honorable Mention Recognition, as announced by The U.S. Basketball Writers Association and the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Puisis topped all scorers with 23 points, achieving a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc and 8-8 at the charity stripe, in South Florida’s 65-56 surprising victory over No. 9/10 Duke at the Yuengling Center on Saturday afternoon. This win marked the Bulls’ first victory against a Top-10 team since defeating No. 7/5 Stanford, 57-54, in November 2021. Puisis is the third Bull in the program’s history to score over 20 points in a win against an AP Top-10 foe and the second Bull ever to maintain a 100% shooting record from 3-point territory in a win against an AP Top-10 opponent.

Earlier that week, Puisis contributed 12 points along with a single steal in USF’s commanding 71-36 victory against Northwestern St.
