For Barry Griffiths, aged 57, the task turned fatal when he inadvertently stabbed himself with a knife while trying to pry apart the frozen patties.

Griffiths, a resident of Wales, was attempting to separate the burgers with a knife when he accidentally punctured his stomach. Authorities reported that Griffiths had diminished mobility in one arm due to a prior stroke, which likely contributed to the unusual accident.

Halloween prank culminates in tragedy in Tennessee

In Tennessee, a Halloween prank ended in calamity when a 12-year-old boy tried to innocently scare other children on a hayride.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), a cluster of children hid behind some bushes in an attempt to frighten the hay riders when one of the boys was unexpectedly hit by the tractor.

The boy, as stated by the police, may have slipped and fallen beneath the wheels during the freak incident.

“Deputies were informed that one of the minors attempted to leap onto the trailer and may have lost his footing and fallen underneath the wheels, where he was found unresponsive.

Skydiver falls to her death – parachute malfunctions

Carolina Muñoz Kennedy, 40, a professional skydiver from Chile, was making her dive in Boituva, Brazil, in October 2024 when she encountered issues with her parachutes, as reported by news outlet Diario AS.

Her primary parachute failed, and the reserve parachute subsequently opened with tangled lines, according to Jam Press.

Footage shows the skydiver entangled in a fatal spin and rapidly spiraling downward before she seemingly managed to regain control of her parachute. However, she then alters her course and crashes into the space behind some trees.

Boy dies when tree collapses on him during backyard play

Lucas Schwartz went outside to relish the fresh air when his playtime was abruptly interrupted as a tree fell on him, killing the 12-year-old instantly.

The Schwartz family from Lawrence Township, New Jersey, grieved the loss of their son following his death from the freak accident in October.

Investigators concluded that Schwartz was playing with a friend in the backyard when strong winds toppled the tree onto him, resulting in fatal injuries.

Five individuals – three youths and two adults – were cooling off in their backyard pool in Indiana when they were electrocuted.

The National Park Service (NPS) stated that 78-year-old Park Ranger Tom Lorig was engaging with visitors at Bryce Canyon’s annual Astronomy Festival in Utah in June when he fell and struck his head on a rock.

During his fall, he hit his head against a large rock. Authorities indicated that he was discovered unresponsive.

NPS noted that Lorig had served as a registered nurse in the Seattle area for 40 years. He served as a permanent, seasonal, and volunteer park ranger for more than a decade.

Woman dies after reversing into an active airplane propeller

Amanda Gallagher was photographing when she reversed into a plane propeller in Kansas in October. Just prior to 3 p.m. that day, Sedgwick County dispatch received information about an accident at Cook Airfield in Derby, KAKE News first reported.

Upon the deputies’ arrival, they found Gallagher, who had suffered critical injuries while taking pictures of individuals boarding and alighting from planes when she reversed into an operating aircraft propeller, according to the outlet. 

The woman was rushed to a hospital in extremely critical condition, as per KAKE, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
