Highlights from the Girls’ Team

The girls’ squad was spearheaded by eighth-grader Adalie Grochowski, who delivered remarkable performances. Grochowski achieved a personal best in the 50 freestyle, tying for 6th position, and remarkably reduced her time by 9 seconds in the 500 freestyle, securing 3rd place.

Junior Olivia Thurmond attained 8th position in the 200 freestyle, while sophomore Nimalka DeAlwis finished 8th in the 100 breaststroke. Another eighth-grader, Bryher Fitzpatrick, contributed to the team’s achievements by claiming 7th in the 100 butterfly and 10th in the 100 breaststroke.

The relay teams of the girls also performed excellently, with the 200 medley relay team composed of Thurmond, Fitzpatrick, DeAlwis, and Grochowski securing 4th place. The 400 freestyle relay team featuring Grochowski, Sophia Fladager, Fitzpatrick, and DeAlwis captured 3rd place, capping off a strong performance.

The boys’ squad demonstrated their depth and skill, finishing in 4th place overall. Junior Nathan Stone led the way with 4th-place finishes in both the 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Gage Plum impressively shaved off 9 seconds in the 500 freestyle to take 5th, while senior Blair Hamry finished 5th in the 100 butterfly.

Freshman Elgin Hoar took 9th place in the 200 IM, while eighth-grader Alex Sonnemann completed his events with 7th in the 100 butterfly and 10th in the 100 backstroke. Competing in just his second meet, freshman Tucker Kissell secured 10th in the 200 freestyle.

The boys’ relay teams fared well, with the 200 medley “A” relay team comprising Plum, Hamry, Stone, and Sonnemann finishing 5th, and the “B” relay team of Vahn Mann, Hoar, Jorden Sonnemann, and Kissell achieving 7th place. The 200 freestyle relay team featuring Hamry, Alex Sonnemann, Plum, and Stone also claimed 5th. The 400 freestyle relays concluded the meet, with the “A” team of Jorden Sonnemann, Kissell, Mann, and Hoar finishing 8th and the “B” team of Grayson Lynch, Gunnar Benson, Mason Pullman, and Levi Balentine taking 9th.
