When Paige Adams-Geller established Paige Denim back in 2004, it began as a labor of love.
Today, the label has expanded well beyond denim to encompass leather, outer garments, silks, knits, shoes, swimwear, and accessories. They operate 26 physical stores in California, New York, and Nashville, and their products are sold in over 80 nations.
“We’ve evolved into an international lifestyle brand serving both men and women, maintaining the same principles of comfort, textile innovation, and trendsetting designs that we’ve embraced from the start,” remarked Adams-Geller, the current creative director who aimed to discover jeans that provide “an impeccable fit.”
Having worked as a fit model for many years, Adams-Geller recognizes high-quality items that fit well. She was among the pioneering female entrepreneurs to establish a denim label that serves both genders when she co-founded the brand alongside her husband Michael Geller and Michael Hentschel.
“After we launched Paige, we rapidly recognized a distinct demand for our denim within the men’s market,” she recalls. “Jon Geller and his team integrated our distinctive Transcend fabric into all their men’s denim styles, which has subsequently redefined the benchmarks of luxury, comfort, and style in men’s denim.”
She has played a crucial role in the ever-evolving denim domain, transitioning from conventional fits to today’s more avant-garde styles. “People are becoming increasingly adventurous with their denim,” claims Adams-Geller.
“With runway trends being more available than ever, denim has transformed into a medium for individuality and self-expression, shifting from its historic role as merely an everyday pair of jeans.”
Recently, Paige Denim marked its 20-year milestone in London and introduced a new legacy collection to celebrate this achievement.
To honor the brand’s recent 20-year anniversary, they crafted a women’s capsule collection featuring limited-edition pieces. “This capsule collection was inspired by the legendary work of iconic fashion photographers Peter Lindbergh, Helmut Newton, and Herbert List; whose monochrome photographs ignited my passion and fascination with fashion,” she expressed.
Included in the collection are the fringed Fleetwood Blazer and the High Rise Lou Lou in black leather honoring the luminaries of fashion photography. Lindbergh, for instance, was well known for photographing the supermodels of the 1990s, while Newton infused an edgy style into mainstream publications. List, who gained prominence before Newton and Lindbergh, brought a surrealist aspect to fashion photography in the 1950s.
Paige Denim has also unveiled their latest winter collection, featuring wide-leg jeans and fashion-forward styles for both men and women. “Our new women’s jeans, the Arellia, represent our take on the barrel leg trend, which is gaining popularity,” stated Adams-Geller. “For men, we have reintroduced one of our original fits; the Doheny. It’s a relaxed straight leg and remains in high demand.”
Adams-Geller first ventured beyond denim with the brand in 2008, when they presented their initial head-to-toe ensembles. Since that time, the brand has only expanded. “Our philosophy is to begin with denim, the cornerstone of your wardrobe, and then create pieces that complete your ideal outfit,” she explained.
“Jeans have forever been a cultural cornerstone in the American wardrobe, but they are no longer perceived as solely casual daily wear; they’ve evolved into a versatile way to enhance any outfit for all types of events.”
The brand has recently inaugurated a new outlet at Bicester Village, marking their second venue in London, as well as another at Belmont Park Village in New York, the latest addition to The Bicester Collection.
Adams-Geller recently commemorated the 20-year milestone in London at an event co-hosted by Eliza and Amelia Spencer, who are the nieces of the late Princess Diana. They were accompanied by their sister Sabrina Elba, along with Janice Joostema, Valeria Lipovetsky, and Sarah Harris of British Vogue.
“London has consistently felt like a second home to me,” reflected Adams-Geller. “The city boasts a cutting-edge fashion environment, diverse shopping options, captivating architecture, and an overall rock and roll vibe. London inspires my creativity, and as a matter of fact, one of my dogs is named London–the other is Chelsea.”
