FREWSBURG, N.Y. — Athletes from Warren Area High School’s basketball teams weren’t the sole competitors to head to New York on Friday. Warren’s swim squads had an opportunity to train at Frewsburg High School.
“The girls’ team swam amongst themselves since the New York teams divided their seasons,” stated Warren swim coach Brandon Gregg. “Our boys faced off against a robust and competitive boys team (Frewsburg/Southwestern/Jamestown/Falconer) that is aiming for a state record in the 400-meter relay. Given that this was a significant mixed event, we opted to keep our friendly scrimmage unscored.
“There were remarkable showings today from our swimmers,” Gregg continued. “Lucy Harrison delivered outstanding times in the 100-meter backstroke and butterfly, while Emma Peterson and Katie Krogler have been posting excellent times in the 200-meter and 400-meter races. Lindsay Ball, a first-year senior, has been dedicated to each race and quickly enhancing her times.”
Warren’s next competition is scheduled at Titusville on Jan. 6.
