The indie game developer and publisher CTRL Freak, along with publisher Super Rare Originals, has unveiled a new title named Phantom Squad, which is set to release in 2025. This new tactical top-down shooter allows up to four players to collaborate on special operation missions before scenarios spiral out of control, compelling everyone to improvise an ending. Phantom Squad

The Phantom Squad consists of operatives officially declared KIA, with no allegiance to any nation, dedicated to fighting terrorism across the globe by any means necessary. Players will take on the role of a Phantom Squad member, with each team member fulfilling a distinct function – dictated by the selections of weapons and gadgets by the player. Players can synergize online across multiple missions with varying and challenging objectives and settings, neutralizing key targets, extracting hostages, infiltrating enemy installations, and much more. Prior to each mission, players will collectively develop plans and strategies for mission completion.

Once the mission begins, players will have to adapt, as gunplay, gadgets, and responsive choices will influence the mission’s success or failure. Communicate with your squad using real-time collaborative tools and voice chat, gather intelligence using tactical gadgets, annotate mission area maps, and outline routes and blind spots. Phantom Squad equips players with the resources to devise and implement flawless plans and tactics. Nevertheless, as not everything may go as expected, players will need to push through challenges with precision and intuitive controls in Phantom Squad.
