Last night marked our concluding photo workshop of 2024. Nate Bett facilitated the workshop, which had 11 participants. Out of those, 9 were guests at the cabins, who hiked up the hill to the Lodge for the 7pm session, while 2 attendees drove in from Chicago.

In the previous two days, we experienced a temperature increase causing the snow to thaw. This created slippery conditions on the property (icy), but also resulted in misty moisture. While this restricted the stargazing opportunities, the sky remained dark due to minimal light pollution at the summit of the Keweenaw (and we are observing our Lights Out! week, during which we switch off exterior lights on the property at night).

Despite the conditions, the two hours spent with Nate from 7-9pm were interactive for the participants. They had the opportunity to inquire about the Northern Lights and gain insights into their cameras, comprising the technique of taking photos on their mobile devices.

Due to overcast weather, the group did not venture outside for photography but remained indoors to ask Nate questions following his presentation.

Below are images captured during the workshop.
