What do you believe contributed to your business being designated as the Best of Summit?

For almost 20 years, I have been a professional photographer dedicated to serving Summit County. I have endeavored to foster significant connections within the community, and I have established a reputation for delivering exceptional photography and high-quality service. 

What differentiates your business from others?

I’m aware that there are numerous skilled photographers in this area. What truly distinguishes Timothy Faust Photography is the extensive experience and a deep comprehension of the requirements of the diverse clients we collaborate with. 

What motivated you to pursue this profession, and what accomplishments are you most proud of?

This profession almost selected me. My journey into photography began in the ’90s out of a fascination with the art combined with my enthusiasm for outdoor exploration and travel. Back then, selling my photography was merely a way to finance film, batteries, and print production. Gradually, it evolved into a vocation. By the early 2000s, I had to leave my teaching job to concentrate on the photography business. 

In what ways does your business contribute to the community?

Timothy Faust Photography proudly participates in 1% for the Planet. As a member, I contribute 1% of our total revenue to local environmental nonprofit organizations. We have also offered our time and photography services, as well as sponsored groups like the NRO. 

What challenges has your business faced regarding the recent economy, supply chain, or staffing, and how have you managed them?

In 2021, I had to make a significant shift when the pandemic significantly impacted the wedding and hospitality sectors. Up until then, most of my work was centered around wedding photography, along with hotel and restaurant photography. As that began to decline, I adapted and used my considerable experience in commercial property photography to shift my focus toward residential real estate photography. Currently, I am occupied photographing and creating videos for 50 homes every month. The most rewarding aspect of this transition is that it allows me to remain in Summit County longer and travel less.
