KANSAS CITY, Mo. – USC Men’s Basketball icon John Rudometkin has been chosen for the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2024, as announced by the organization today.
 
Ranked ninth in all-time scoring and fifth in all-time rebounds, Rudometkin left a significant legacy at USC, culminating in his jersey retirement in 2010. Throughout his three-year journey with the Trojans, he amassed 1,484 points and 831 rebounds. He became the inaugural player in USC history to achieve 1,000 career points within two seasons, leading the Trojans in scoring throughout all three years. He received All-America accolades in 1961 and 1962 and was selected as the team MVP during all three seasons he competed for USC. Over his 79-game career at USC, Rudometkin recorded 20-point, 20-rebound outings twice, with a standout performance of 21 points and 21 rebounds against Denver on Sept. 28, 1961, and 23 points and 21 rebounds at Wyoming on Dec. 22, 1961. He also guided the Trojans to a conference title in 1961. After his tenure at USC, Rudometkin was the 11th overall pick in the 1962 NBA Draft, playing three seasons with the New York Knicks and San Francisco Warriors.
 
Rudometkin will receive posthumous recognition alongside the seven other inductees at the upcoming National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
