Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series Sparks Controversy: Fans Question the Target Audience!

Meghan Markle’s announcement regarding her forthcoming Netflix lifestyle series titled With Love, Meghan has incited a range of responses on the internet, with a considerable number of royal enthusiasts condemning the program as “disconnected.”
The teaser, shared on Markle’s Instagram, depicts her in her kitchen and garden in Montecito, engaging with guests like Mindy Kaling. Meghan expressed, “I have been so thrilled to share this with you! I hope you adore the show as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
The series is scheduled to premiere on January 15, having been teased last March when Meghan introduced her brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Diverse reactions from supporters
Upon the release of the teaser, royal fans did not appear as excited as Meghan. Numerous individuals took to social media platform X to convey their dissatisfaction, terming the series “awful” and “privileged.”
“No, thank you,” one user stated, while another bluntly remarked, “This looks horrific.” A third individual added, “I’d rather watch paint dry.” Some suggested that Meghan was disconnected from reality, chastising her for preparing meals that “nobody can afford currently.”

One X user encapsulated the sentiment, questioning: “Who is the intended audience?? Women with abundant wealth and leisure time creating extremely fussy treats and crafts? Incredibly entitled.”

Blogger Meghan McCain also took issue with the Duchess of Sussex for being out of touch. “Initially, I was a supporter of Meghan Markle. I found her cool, fashionable, and refreshing. Just like the rest of the world, my view shifted when she showed disrespect towards the royal family. Now that she wishes to embrace her American identity again rather than the British aristocracy, what she seems to overlook is that Americans seek authenticity, rawness, and honesty,” she expressed her criticism of the Duchess.
“Everything, even in the teaser, appears highly curated, produced, and disconnected. There have been two terror attacks in two days, significant wars raging, and Americans can’t afford groceries. We are a nation filled with rage, uncertainty, and intensity at this moment,” she added.

Despite the criticism, some supporters are enthusiastically anticipating the series. “You’ve brightened my day,” one admirer commented. Others expressed their eagerness for the forthcoming episodes, with one stating, “Such wonderful news! I cannot wait to see Meghan’s cooking and gardening/lifestyle show!”

Netflix characterizes the show as an exploration of how “even the slightest details can enhance beauty in our lives and, most importantly, facilitate connections among people.”
Meghan’s star-studded friends will make appearances throughout the series, including her close friend Mindy Kaling, who enjoys Meghan’s Victoria Sponge cake. Prince Harry, chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters, along with other friends such as Suits co-star Abigail Spencer will also join Meghan in the series.
