Montclair, NJ (January 3) –  The FDU-Florham Women’s Swimming Team commenced 2025 with a non-conference contest at Montclair State but were unable to clinch the victory against the Red Hawks, suffering a 147-87 defeat on the road.
 
Julianna Fazzio (Glassboro, NJ) achieved the sole first place result of the day for the Devils, as she secured first in the 100 IM with a clocking of 1:06.07. She earned second place in her other two events, which included the 100 fly (1:04.89) and the 50 fly (28.37).
 
Jessica Mooney (Cranford, N.J.) secured a podium finish with third in the 100 back (1:12.13) and 500 free (6:16.56). She finished sixth in her last event of the 200 free with a time of 2:19.85.
 
Katelyn Plank (Bridgewater, N.J.) maintained her position on the podium in all her events, clocking 57.57 in the 100 free for second and earning third place finishes in both the 50 back (30.08) and the 50 fly (28.52).
 
Magda Konopka (Paramus, NJ) achieved two second-place finishes during the event, specifically in the 50 free (25.85) and the 100 breast (1:14.61). Her last effort was sufficient for third in the 50 breast, finishing in 33.73.

Olivia Glenfield (Howell, MI) completed her events placing two, three, and four starting with the 100 IM where she registered a time of 1:10.95. Her third-place finish came in the 100 breast with a time of 1:17.84, while her fourth position was noted with a time of 2:12.39 in the 200 free.

 

Lauren Stone (Middletown, NJ) achieved a double podium finish with fifth in the 50 breast (35.54) and the 50 free (27.00). Her third event was the 100 breast, where the junior posted a time of 1:18.45 for fourth.

 

Caitlyn Kramaritsch (Roxbury, NJ) had her best performance in the 500 free, timing in at 6:09.36 for second place. She faced some challenges afterward, finishing fifth in the 100 free (1:00.80) and sixth in the 50 back (34.70).

 

Gosia Swat (North Cadwell, NJ) only competed in two events: the 50 breast with a time of 42.18 and the 50 free with a time of 30.81. Both performances earned her a tenth-place finish.

 

Ashley Smith (Tinton Falls, NJ) began resonantly in the 200 free and concluded with a time of 2:17.10 for fifth place, before taking a slight dip to seize sixth in the 100 free with a finish time of 1:01.84.

 

Shalma Lopez(Union City, NJ) observed two fourth-place finishes in the 50 back (34.36) and the 100 back (1:16.25). She made a vigorous attempt for a higher position in the 50 free but ended up in sixth (30.01) as the competition settled.

 

Eve Amalfitano (Brigantine, NJ) unfortunately did not register any points in her events as she placed eleventh in both, timing in at 44.57 in the 50 breast and 33.65 in the 50 free.

 

Olivia Case (Cream Ridge, NJ) delivered her top performance in the 100 back, swimming for a time of 1:06.12 and second place. Her second-best display was in the 50 fly, where she clocked in at 30.79. Case concluded the meet with a 1:08.96 in the 100 fly for fifth.

 

Naia McGinn (Pleasant Borough, NJ) competed in both the 50 breast and free. She finished with a time of 33.91 in the free and 50.68 in the breast, with both times earning her a twelfth-place position.

 

 

Isabel Thierman (Belmar, NJ) took third place in the 100 IM, recording a time of 1:19.53, and concluded her participation with a sixth-place finish in the 50 breast, timing in at 38.24.

 
The Devils had numerous teams contend in relay and medley events, with Konopka, Fazzio, Plank, and Stone finishing second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:45.55. They subsequently nearly replicated this performance, finishing second in the 200 medley with Plank, Fazzio, Glenfield, and Konopka (1:56.29).

 

For their initial and sole home meet of the 2024-25 season, FDU-Florham will welcome Stevenson on Friday, January 17 at 4:00 pm. The Devils also plan to honor their four seniors for their dedication to the program, both in and out of the water.
