Crucial Expands Its Memory and Storage Lineup for Enhanced Performance

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 07, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Consumer Electronics Show — Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MU), today revealed enhancements to its Crucial consumer memory and storage lineup, including the introduction of the high-performance Crucial P510 SSD, coupled with increased density and form factor choices for its existing DRAM series to provide greater variety and flexibility for consumers. The P510 boasts read and write speeds of up to 11,000/9,550 megabytes per second (MB/s), delivering exceptional Gen5 performance to consumers.

The enterprise is displaying the P510 alongside a comprehensive array of demonstrations showcasing configurations for all price tiers and computing applications, from high-end performance gaming to professional photography to standard home, office, and educational use, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. These demonstrations highlight Crucial’s extensive product range in conjunction with Crucial’s ecosystem and systems integration partners, featuring top-tier devices that incorporate Crucial solutions such as gaming PCs, motherboards, CPUs, and consoles from ASRock, Beelink, be quiet!, Falcon Northwest, Gigabyte, PlayStation, MECHREVO, ThundeRobot, and TRYX.

New SSD introductions offer rapid, power-efficient storage options for consumers
Engineered for both laptops and desktops with an innovative, more energy-efficient architecture, the P510 consumes 25% less power than prior Crucial Gen5 SSDs to extend battery life.¹

This launch builds upon Crucial’s two years of expertise leading in the Gen5 space, now making that velocity accessible to a wider market. Its high read/write speeds allow users to enhance productivity and enjoy smoother, more immersive experiences, whether in gaming or creative tasks. The SSD is available in capacities of 1 terabyte (TB) and 2TB, complete with an integrated heatsink. The P510 also features a single-sided design that is simple to install — even in newer Gen5-compatible laptops.

Crucial is also enhancing its SSD offerings with a heatsink variant of its Crucial P310 2280 SSD. The integrated heatsink is tailored to fit and function within the PlayStation 5, but can also be utilized with desktops, delivering unrestricted performance for desktop gamers and creators. With read speeds of 7,100 MB/s, the SSD makes speedy, dependable storage and capacity both affordable and power-efficient.

Crucial expands gaming selection and supports AI PCs with higher density memory modules
In addition to its new storage options, Crucial is significantly enhancing its consumer memory range with the following updates:

• Crucial DDR5 Pro Overclocking (OC) Gaming Memory: Crucial now provides a new 32GB density option for its Crucial DDR5 Pro OC Gaming Memory. These developments closely follow Crucial’s initial February launch of the gaming memory at 6000 megatransfers per second (MT/s), subsequently followed by its October introduction of the 6400 MT/s – both in 16GB densities. With the 32GB option available across both speed levels, avid gamers and DIY enthusiasts can enjoy quicker, smoother gameplay and multitasking without concern for bottlenecks, sluggish frame rates, and lengthy load times.
• Crucial DDR5 Pro Plug-and-Play Memory: For gamers, creatives, and professionals who require DDR5 performance directly out of the box, Crucial DDR5 Pro Plug-and-Play Memory effortlessly enhances system performance without the hassle of overclocking, latency fine-tuning, die chasing, or LED management. Closing a market gap, Crucial now offers this solution in a 64GB density with a speed of 5,600 MT/s, making it the world’s first DDR5 64GB module featuring a heat spreader. Users in need of higher density can opt for a 128GB kit with two 64GB modules. • Crucial DDR5 UDIMM/SODIMM: Crucial is now supplying its Crucial Classic DDR5 Memory in a 64GB density at the 5600 MT/s speed tier, available in both UDIMM and SODIMM configurations.
