Over 2200 sports photographers from more than 96 nations contributed more than 13000 photographs to this year’s contest, which is supported by MPB. The competition spans various categories across all sports, including American Football, Golf, Aquatics, Cycling, Formula 1, and beyond, and with 2024 promising to be a spectacular year for sporting events, there are extraordinary photographs. From World Sports Photography Awards: A photograph featuring Brazilian Surfer Gabriel Medina, capturing an astounding moment where athlete, spectacle, and photographer unite in flawless harmony, has secured this year’s World Sports Photography Awards. The image was captured by the Tahiti-based French Photographer Jerome Brouillet during the third day of the Surfing event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Teahupo’o, French Polynesia.

This picture is among the 24 winning images spanning various sports categories, including American Football, Baseball, Equestrian, Golf, Racquet Sports, and Football. More than 2200 professional sports photographers from over 96 countries across the globe entered over 13000 images into this year’s competition.

The World Sports Photography Awards are the sole international awards dedicated to sports photography. Entered by top-tier sports photographers from around the world, and assessed by prominent figures in sport, media, photography, brand, and creativity. These awards are designed to acknowledge and celebrate remarkable sports images and the photographers who capture them.
