Ceaphas Stubbs received his BA in Visual Arts from Rutgers University in 2011. He attained his MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013, concurrently earning a certificate in “Time-Based Media” from the same institution. He was honored with a Christopher Lyon Memorial Award in 2013 and nominated for the Dedalus Foundation MFA Fellowship in the spring of 2012. Stubbs has participated in residencies at Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture (2012), Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (2017), The Creative Capital Professional Development Program (2017), and Express Newark (2017-18). His works have been featured in The New York Times, Brooklyn Rail, Skowhegan’s SPACE/LAUNCH, Expose Magazine, and Agave MagazineCurrently, he is a full-time, tenure-track professor at Brookdale Community College serving as the coordinator for the Photography AA Program.
