Lumberjack Divers Make Waves on Day One of Lancer Dive Invitational!

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2024) – The women’s diving squad from Northern Arizona concluded the opening day of the Lancer Dive Invite, which was organized by California Baptist University.

The Lumberjacks excelled in the 3-meter championship preliminaries, taking the leading three positions.

“Diving outdoors isn’t always our favorite, yet the team demonstrated remarkable perseverance and performed exceptionally well,” remarked head diving coach Nikki Kelsey. “I am incredibly proud of each one of them.”

During the preliminary round, Mackenna Stocker secured first place with a score of 272.95 and later finished as the runner-up in the finals, achieving a score of 296.05.

Senior Kendall Marquez ended up in second place during the prelims with a score of 265.40. She overall finished fourth with a concluding score of 281.05.

Margaret Wesche earned third spot in the preliminaries with a score of 264.00 and came in seventh place in the finals, scoring 263.25.

Grace Wesche retained her sixth-place standing through both rounds, accumulating 249.45 in the preliminaries and 271.50 in the finals.

Victoria Knapp was positioned 10th in the preliminary segment with a score of 231.15, but she made notable advancements in the finals, ending in fifth with a score of 276.65.

The following day of the competition will commence at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, with live updates of the women’s platform event accessible on DiveMeets.
