CLEVELAND, OH – The Calvin men’s swimming and diving squad commenced second semester competition with a visit to Division I Cleveland State University Friday afternoon. The Knights were outmatched in the dual meet 192-102 but showcased several impressive performances.
Senior Will Goodpaster (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton HS) secured second position on the one-meter (263.25) and three-meter (232.80) diving boards.
Senior David Bajwa (Bethesda./The Heights School) glided to victory in the 100 backstroke (50.05) while claiming second in the 200 backstroke (1:53.32). Junior Jacob Ziegler (Toledo, Oh./St. John’s Jesuit) finished fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:56.62).

NEXT UP: The Knights will refocus their efforts towards a triangular dual meet at Denison University, which will also feature Carnegie Mellon. All three teams hold national rankings in Division III; Denison is ranked second, Carnegie Mellon is eighth, and Calvin is ninth. The competition is set to commence at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Granville, Ohio.
