Nine Gaming Laptops Featuring RTX 50 GPUs Listed: ROG Strix Scar 18 Priced Above $4000, Several More Affordable Models Are Also Available

NVIDIA’s collaborators have unveiled their fresh hardware ranges, incorporating the latest GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. Whether you’re in the market for a gaming desktop or a laptop, many manufacturers have previewed their upcoming hardware at CES and even prior. Now, unexpectedly, gaming laptops have surfaced on a retail platform, even with several weeks remaining until the official embargo concludes.

As you might be aware, the RTX 50 series desktop GPUs will begin dispatch on January 30th, while the laptop counterparts will not be released until March. However, the retailer, Best Buy has already cataloged nine gaming laptops based on various RTX 50-series GPUs. Naturally, they can’t be purchased just yet, but this indicates that laptop makers have stockpiled their inventory weeks ahead of time.

Currently, most models are from ASUS, although there is one HP gaming laptop listed as well. Thanks to @momomo_us for noticing the listings, which disclose 8 ASUS gaming laptops and 1 HP Omen laptop model, ranging from $1,899 to $4,199. Priced at $1899, ASUS has introduced the ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop, now upgraded with an RTX 5070 Ti and the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.

Additionally, there exists an RTX 5070 variant in the Zephyrus series, integrating Intel Core Ultra 9 processors, an OLED display, along with 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. At $2199, ASUS offers an identical configuration as the ROG Strix G16 on the Zephyrus G14, albeit with a smaller 14-inch OLED display and greater RAM.

In addition, the HP OMEN Max 16 is listed for $2699 and features an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX coupled with an RTX 5080. The ROG Strix G18 shares similar specifications, boasting a 240 Hz refresh rate display and larger storage options. Consequently, it carries a price tag that is $200 higher. The ROG Zephyrus G14 similarly presents a comparable configuration, but with a Ryzen AI 9 HX processor partnered with an RTX 5080 and a 14″ OLED display.

Surpassing the $3000 threshold, there are two models of ROG Zephyrus G16, each equipped with an OLED 2.5K display functioning at 240 Hz. While both incorporate the same Core Ultra 9 series CPU, the GPU differs in each. One includes the RTX 5080, while the other features the top-tier RTX 5090 GPU with 24 GB VRAM. The ultimate and flagship model is the ROG Strix SCAR 18, presenting near-identical specifications as the Zephyrus G16 model, with a retail price of $4199.
