Meghan Markle Postpones Netflix Debut Amidst Los Angeles Wildfire Crisis

Meghan Markle’s comeback to Netflix has been delayed due to the prevailing wildfires in Southern California.

The Duchess of Sussex announced that her upcoming series, “With Love, Meghan,” which was scheduled for a January 15 launch on the popular streaming platform, has been postponed to a March 4 release.

Markle, who hails from Los Angeles and attended the all-girls Catholic educational institution Immaculate Heart High School, sought to push back the premiere of her program in light of the severe fires, such as the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire.

“At Meghan’s request, Duchess of Sussex, and with complete backing from Netflix, the premiere of the series — a heartfelt homage to the beauty of Southern California — has been rescheduled from the previously set January date to March 4 due to the ongoing destruction caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles,” a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“I am grateful to my partners at Netflix for their support in postponing the launch as we concentrate on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle stated.

On Friday, Markle and her husband Prince Harry provided support to victims and recovery efforts by meeting with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.

“In recent days, wildfires in Southern California have swept through neighborhoods, devastating families, homes, educational institutions, medical facilities, and much more – impacting tens of thousands from diverse backgrounds. A state of emergency has been declared,” the couple wrote on their website on Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex provided a list of organizations on their site that are actively aiding wildfire victims, such as the Animal Wellness Foundation, which is sheltering and caring for evacuated pets; Compton Cowboys, which is supplying emergency transportation for horses; and Airbnb and 211LA, which have collaborated to provide free temporary housing to displaced individuals, among others.

Prince Harry made a brief appearance between segments featuring the duchess cooking, gardening, and dancing in her kitchen with celebrity friends, including Mindy Kaling and Roy Choi.

Produced by Markle, the series “reinvents the lifestyle programming genre, merging practical how-to advice with genuine conversation with both new and established friends,” according to Netflix.

“Meghan shares her personal tips and tricks, prioritizing fun over perfection and demonstrating how simple it can be to create beauty, even in the most unexpected ways. She and her guests get hands-on in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, inviting you to participate.”

The couple’s multi-year agreement with Netflix was realized after they departed from their royal responsibilities and relocated to California in 2020. They initially released their groundbreaking docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” in 2022, which attracted the largest one-day viewership for any Netflix show since tracking began in October 2022.

One year later, they followed this up with the “Heart of Invictus” docuseries in 2023 and produced “Polo” in 2024.
