Four Delightful Discoveries | Cup of Jo

This year, similarly to the previous year, my ambition is to capture some photographs of my female companions alongside their children. I thoroughly ENJOY seeing mothers in images, and it’s delightful to attempt to seize charming, candid moments. I have informed my friend Claire that I aspire to be her personal Pete Souza.

I eventually viewed Ali Wong’s latest comedic special, Single Lady, focused on dating post-divorce, and wow, I laughed a thousand times. “I’ve never been sought after this much in my life,” she remarked. “Boys, they never found me appealing while growing up. In the ’90s, during high school, guys were not interested in charismatic A cups.” Now she exclusively dates divorced fathers because “I want a man that’s been pre-yelled at.” Absolutely excellent.

My boys consume SO MUCH these days — a gallon of milk lasts merely a few days — so yesterday we prepared Ghirardelli boxed brownies as a treat. I had forgotten just how rich, chewy, and delectable they are. Undoubtedly the top boxed brownies available. (Agree/disagree?)

Concerning the topic of readers’ winter apparel, Sumaya, based in London, contributed a submission today: “I await all year to don my traditional velvet Kashmiri pheran. They were once deemed rather outdated, however now they’re trendy among Kashmiris residing inside and outside of Kashmir, which fills me with joy. They are designed to be layered, so I match mine with dresses, jeans, coats, anything. My son pairs his with a hoodie and Uggs. And they all come with POCKETS!”

As for myself, and in a much less colorful manner, I’ve been drawn to lots of soft browns. These pants receive at least three compliments each time I wear them — the fit is exceptionally great, featuring a slight barrel leg and utility style — and I find myself reaching for them several times a week.
