NASHVILLE, Tenn. – – The Belmont University Women’s Track and Field squad makes its way back to Vanderbilt this weekend for the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center.
 
Both days of the competition will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.
 
The Bruins will be up against 38 other teams while seeking to leverage the strong momentum gained from last week’s Commodore Challenge.

Motivating the Bruins heading into this competition are graduate student Brook Garter and senior Logan Gray, both of whom received MVC Weekly Honors.
 
Additionally, the team is energized by Alexa Fortman’s record-setting performance at last week’s Commodore Challenge. Fortman completed the 600 meters in 1:32.11, securing sixth place in the event while breaking the program’s record for this distance.
 
This weekend’s competition will commence with Belmont participating in the pentathlon on Friday at 9:20 a.m., followed by individual field events: the high jump, long jump, and weight throw.
 
The Bruins will conclude the day with the 200 meters, 1,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and distance medley relay.
 
On Saturday, the Bruins will mainly engage in track events, though they will also take part in the pole vault, shot put, and triple jump, starting at 1:30 p.m.
 
Belmont will wrap up the meet with the 60-meter hurdles, 60 meters, the mile, 400 meters, 800 meters, 3,000 meters, and 4×400 relay, with the last event commencing at 6:30 p.m.
