BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College men’s swimming & diving squad triumphed in 10 of the 16 events to overcome their long-standing adversary Wheaton College, 169-109, during a home competition Saturday afternoon at Morse Pool.

The Beavers secured their third consecutive dual meet win to elevate their record to 6-2 this season while Wheaton fell to 2-4 in dual meets this winter.

Senior Pat Anutarasoti (Bangkok, Thailand) and sophomores Anthony Taslakov (Sherborn, Mass.) and David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) spearheaded the Beavers with two individual victories each. First-years Liam Maloney (Tampa, Fla.) and William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.) also notched an individual victory, and the Beavers secured both relays in this triumph.

Anutarasoti clinched the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.56 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly at 50.77 seconds, while Taslakov finished first in the 100-yard backstroke at 53.88 and the 200 back in 1:57.24. Krol was the top performer in both the one-meter and three-meter diving, achieving scores of 299.20 on the low board and 307.60 on the high board.

The Green and White commenced the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as first-years Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.), Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.), Nehemiah Rhee (Paramus, N.J.), and Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) clocked a winning time of 1:37.54, followed closely by Taslakov, first-year William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.), senior Matthew D’Elia (Old Bridge, N.J.), and Anutarasoti at 1:37.67. Babson concluded the team victory by triumphing in the final event, the 400-yard free relay, with Taslakov, Iglar, Hannenian, and Anutarasoti outpacing the competition in 3:11.46.

Iglar secured first in the 200-breaststroke at 2:12.71 and took third in the 1000-yard free at 10:30.63, while Maloney was victorious in the 200-fly at 1:58.20. D’Elia achieved a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 fly at 53.93 and 200 fly at 1:58.47, and graduate student Cole Seeger (Lakewood, Ill.) placed second in both the 200-free (1:51.90) and 500-free (5:08.01).

Other second-place finishes were recorded by Hannenian in the 100-breast at 1:03.08, Huynh in the 200-breast at 2:18.21, and first-year Don Crisafulli (Natick, Mass.) in the 200-IM at 2:06.96.

Ambelang took third in both the 200 free (1:53.58) and 200 back (2:01.89), with Rhee finishing third in the 200 fly (2:03.76) and 100 free (50.24). Huynh also claimed third in the 200 IM (2:09.22), while first-year Ilaan Garware (Pune, India) came in third in the 500 free at 5:13.64, and senior Aidan Downey-Lamprey (Norwell, Mass.) concluded the list of third-place finishers in the 50 free at 23.26 seconds.

The Beavers are set to partake in their last road dual meet of the season next Saturday at Bridgewater State, starting at 2 p.m.
