The Colby Mules maintained an undefeated record for January as both the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Teams triumphed over Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on Saturday afternoon. The men’s team clinched victory or recorded the quickest time in all 16 events contested, while the women’s team secured 13 out of the 16 events. Several competitors emerged as event victors, with first-year Savannah Lombardi and first-year Curtis Johnson celebrating their initial collegiate wins in the 1000 Freestyle. The men’s team showcased multiple three-event victors such as Carson Rehkopf (400 Medley Relay, 200 Free, 100 Free), Brandon Morrison (400 Medley Relay, 200 Butterfly, 100 Butterfly), and Alex Maclennan (400 Medley Relay, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke). Ethan Chang (400 Medley Relay, 50 Free), Ivan Knoepflmacher (1M and 3M diving), and Spencer Cohen (100 and 200 Backstroke) all earned two victories each, whereas Nano Chon won the 500 Freestyle, and Skylar Yoham clinched the 400 IM. The time recorded in the 400 Medley Relay marked the 7th fastest in the institution’s history, while the 400 Freestyle Relay stood at 11th.

On Monday, the Mules will travel to New London, Connecticut, to compete against Connecticut College. The meet is scheduled to commence at 1 PM.
