HANNAH WADDELL FROM CENTENARY COLLEGE, a second-year student from Shreveport, Louisiana, has been recognized as the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her performances during the competitions held from Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 10)

Waddell continued her remarkable season, achieving five individual victories in two home contests against Millsaps College on Friday and a dual meet on Saturday versus Austin College and St. Thomas. Currently boasting an impressive total of 19 individual wins this season, Waddell was also part of the Ladies’ victorious 200-free relay team. The sophomore secured multiple wins in the 200 IM (2:19.66 & 2:23.30), 100 breast (109.89 & 1:11.82), and one in the 200 free (2:08.70).

Additional Exceptional Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Julia Cox of Colorado College was the top point scorer for her team at the CC Classic. Individually, she achieved first place in the 100 free (54.24), second in the 50 free (25.04), and contributed to the first-place finishes in the 200 free and 400 free relays with lead-off splits of 25.2 and 54.7, respectively. Junior Audrey Jacobson of Trinity played a significant role in leading the Tigers to a win against Southwestern in Saturday’s dual meet involving the two SCAC teams. Jacobson touched the wall first in the 200 free (1:58.94) and 200 backstroke (2:10.91), and was also part of the triumphant 200 freestyle relay, clocking a split of 25.52. She recorded the fastest backstroke split of the day – a 27.28 in the 200 medley relay. Senior Faith Coffin of University of the Ozarks triumphed in the 200 freestyle (2:11.32), the 100 freestyle (1:00.71), and anchored the victorious 200 free relay in 27.09 during Saturday’s dual meet win against Hendrix. Sophomore Kelsy Elgar of St. Thomas delivered an exhilarating performance in the 100 backstroke, displaying her competitive spirit with a remarkable come-from-behind effort to finish in second place during Saturday’s dual meet against fellow SCAC competitors, Austin College, and Centenary.
