The role of Photography Apprentice will support the Photography Manager and the Team Photographer with various business endeavors, games, and events for the duration of the apprenticeship. The objective is to create an environment for learning from a seasoned content team within the Marketing department while enhancing both technical skills and workplace growth. There will be chances to engage hands-on with gameday responsibilities, event documentation, and archiving procedures alongside other initiatives throughout the year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Reasonable adjustments may be made to assist individuals with disabilities in executing the fundamental functions.

  • Aid in the archiving keywording process, capturing photographs of activations, community events, studio assignments, and game days.
  • Address game day requirements, including times before and after events.
  • Conduct live editing during games for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage in production shoots at Daikin Park and potentially off-site.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Content Director and Photography Manager as the position evolves throughout the year.
  • Perform other associated tasks as designated.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of college or relevant photography and editing experience, ideally within sports or event coverage.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – specifically Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Acquaintance with PhotoShelter or another Digital Asset Management system.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and team members.
  • Understanding of baseball is mandatory.
  • Readiness and flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Exemplary professionalism, integrity, and decorum demonstrated at a high level.
  • A creative, dynamic, and proactive outlook towards work.
  • Ability to foresee and propose suggestions based on the needs of the manager and/or project.
  • Strong skills in nurturing relationships.
  • An innovative and proactive mindset.
  • Responsibilities on game days are essential.
  • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

 

Work Environment

This role functions within an office, clerical environment. Routine use of conventional office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers is expected. The noise level is typically moderate, though it can become loud within the stadium atmosphere.
