The award winners of the DJ Memorial Photography Contest with LMW Chairman Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu (fifth proper) in Coimbatore on Wednesday.

LMW which sponsors and organises the DJ Memorial Photography Contest (DJMPC) honoured the winners at a perform held at Kasthuri Sreenivasan Cultural Centre right here on Wednesday.
The DJMPC was established in honour of LMW’s former Chairman and Managing Director D Jayavarthanavelu (DJ). This occasion serves as a tribute to Dr. DJ’s immense ardour for pictures. Since its institution in 2012, the competition has constantly attracted enthusiastic participation from photographers.
The response to the 14th version of DJMPC this 12 months signifies that this annual occasion is more and more solidifying its standing as a big prevalence on the pictures calendar, a launch stated.
This 12 months, a jury panel, comprising distinguished photographers, together with Lakshitha Karunarathna from Sri Lanka, Shivang Mehta from New Delhi, and Saurabh Desai from Surat, evaluated the submitted entries. Ok Maruthachalam served as the competition mentor, whereas Vikram Sathyanathan was the competition administrator.
The DJMPC encompasses a complete prize pool of ₹10 lakh. For the 12 months 2025, the competition obtained roughly 8,925 photographs from 32 nations, with participation from 2,292 people throughout the Wild Portraits and Naturescape classes.
In every class, past the highest two awards, 10 contributors are recognised with a certificates of benefit for his or her contributions. A public exhibition showcasing a choice of contest images shall be obtainable for viewing till Tuesday, August 5.
Winners below the Naturescape class included France’s Arnaud Farre’s picture referred to as ‘Spirits of the Falls’ shot at Iguazu Falls in Argentina who gained the primary prize. Dileep’s (UAE) picture titled ‘ Elusive, Endangered and Ancient’ shot at Socotra, Yemen was declared the runner-up and within the wild portraits class Kerala’s Sandeep Das’ picture ‘The Insect Kaleidoscope’ shot at Agasthyamalais in India gained the primary prize. Another Indian photographer Kasim Mohammed’s picture ‘Solitude in the grass’ shot at Bhopal, India was declared the runner-up.
