Haley Nelson, whose superb artwork images is featured within the newest exhibit at M State’s Waage Gallery, desires viewers of her work to have an emotional response to it, to “Feel it. Embrace it. Enjoy it.” 

A former M State scholar, Nelson makes use of experimental processes and daring, unconventional modifying strategies to create layered and dynamic photographs, infusing vibrant shade and whimsy into widespread points of on a regular basis life. Her work ranges from cinematic landscapes and nature scenes to non-public narratives exploring id.

“I want to remind viewers that beauty exists everywhere – not just in iconic landscapes, but in the seemingly ordinary spaces that surround us,” Nelson says in her artist assertion. “By encouraging a sense of wonder and introspection, I hope to inspire both exploration of the world and a deeper appreciation of oneself. This visual language doesn’t come with rules or instructions; instead, I invite the viewer to let the work speak to them.”

After graduating from M State in 2010, Nelson earned her bachelor of superb arts diploma from Minnesota State University Moorhead, with an emphasis in images and graphic design. She just lately exhibited her works in a juried exhibition on the Kaddatz Gallery in Fergus Falls.
